Book Signing and Lecture: Embattled River

Murray Student Center
Join Scenic Hudson and the Hudson River Valley Institute (HRVI) at Marist College for a lecture and book signing by Dr. David Schuyler, author of "Embattled River: The Hudson and Modern American Environmentalism." Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan and HRVI Director Thomas Wermuth will provide introductory remarks.

In his talk, based on his new book, Dr. Schuyler will describe how pioneering efforts to protect the Hudson River not only led to creation of groups like Scenic Hudson, Riverkeeper and Clearwater, but helped to ignite America’s modern grass-roots environmental movement and secure passage of seminal national and state environmental laws.

Don’t miss this evening of fascinating stories about the early activists who worked so hard to save the Hudson—providing valuable lessons and inspiration for all of us committed to building upon their legacy.

Please RSVP by June 6 to 845-575-3052 or HRVI@marist.edu.
